Learn more about Mars:

It's amazing -- the things people find on Mars. We've seen a floating spoon, Bigfoot, rats and now, well what do you know, Buddha, himself, has been spotted on the Red Planet.

According to Scott C. Waring, ufosightingsdaily.com, this statue of a "Stunning Martian God" was spotted this October. In fact, the feature has been seen before, but never in such revealing detail.

Waring writes, "This photo alone should be enough to convince the United Nations that intelligent life once existed on Mars, but NASA doesn't want anyone to know the truth, because they will be asked to share the info and technology that they have found."

Buddha on Mars

This "Martian God" statue is actually an excellent example of "pareidolia," the quirk of the human brain that makes us see human faces where none exist.

As DNews space producer Ian O'Neill wrote: pareidolia is "the same phenomenon that makes some people see the face of Jesus in burnt toast and bunnies in clouds. In the case of Mars, pareidolia makes us see Bigfoot, parrots, flowers and faces in the otherwise barren orange landscape."

Or, in this case, it makes us see a statue of a sitting Buddha-type deity.

This is the photo Waring refers to.

See it? It's there in plain sight. As Waring describes the feature: "It shows a face and head turned to its right, with breasts and a plump stomach, shoulders."

That NASA -- always trying to hide the exciting discoveries.

They told us about liquid water on Mars today and the odd glint from a star 1,480 light-years away that could, just maybe, suggest alien megastructures. Pretty exciting stuff.
