We NEED This New Hoverboard — If It’s Real

In a video posted to YouTube this week, Japanese automaker Lexus claims to have created a "real, rideable" hoverboard:

The company hasn't released anything beyond the short YouTube trailer and a handful of promotional images on its website, although it plans to release new imagery and videos on a weekly basis.

On YouTube, the trailer has been met with rampant skepticism, fueled by the fact that the video of the "rideable" hoverboard displays no actual riding. "Rideable? If it was ridable, you'd show someone riding it. He put his foot on it then it cut off, implying that you've got the board to hover, holding its own weight, but cannot hold more than it's own weight. Misleading title," laments one nonplussed viewer.

What do you think? Will Lexus deliver a piece of game-changing technology, or this video a hoax?
