Learn more about bats:

For an orphaned baby, nothing can compare to the warm embrace of its long-lost mother. A custom-designed bat wrap comes close, though.

Called 'cuddlebatz' by its creator, the cozy blanket is sewn in the shape of an adult bat, and even includes a strategically placed pacifier. When placed around a young bat, the wrap provides warmth and comfort of an absent parent.

"Orphans sometimes arrive into care extremely distressed after the loss of their mum and a cuddlebatz allows the baby to attach to a dummy/pacifier before being snuggly wrapped in 'mum's' wings," writes Batzilla, a Brisbane, Australia-based bat sanctuary, on its Facebook page.

This ingenious wrap is called a 'cuddlebatz' and it was designed and sewn by Batzilla the Bat's very good friend Battie Blue.Orphans sometimes arrive into care extremely distressed after the loss of their mum and a cuddlebatz allows the baby to attach to a dummy/pacifier before being snuggly wrapped in 'mum's' wings.I reckon they are one of the best settlers for a distressed and frightened baby and Bluebell's new sister (as yet unnamed) thinks so too. <3

The organization also provides its tiniest patients with fuzzy bat sweaters, which help premature bats that are unable to regulate their own body temperature:

We don't often get premmie babies into care but when we do we have to ensure they are warm and toasty. All is well in a regulated environment such as a humidicrib/incubator but they have to come out for their bottles and this is when they chill very quickly. As premmies are unable to self regulate their body temperature we must provide an alternative and little premmies like Danny really appreciate the extra warmth provided by these cozy jackets.
