A new study reveals that hummingbirds fly with remarkable accuracy.

A joint study from Harvard University and Australia's Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology proved that hummingbirds fly remarkably well in the face of extreme conditions. In the same way that humans encounter stairs and hills, birds are susceptible to heavy wind turbulence that can make flying extremely difficult.

Using a wind tunnel, researchers simulated severe weather and found that, when faced with 10 mph winds, hummingbirds were able to fly and feed with exceptional stability.

For comparison's sake, researchers asked pilots to fly drones in a wind tunnel with only a third of the intensity. Not a single drone stayed in the air.
