Longsnout Sea Horse, Hippocampus reidi
One of about 35 species of sea horses worldwide, the dorsal fin propels the creature forward while the pectoral fins control turning and steering. A male becomes pregnant when a female deposits her eggs into his pouch. Toothless, a sea horse eats up to 3,000 brine shrimp a day, swallowing its food whole.
