Shark Myths: Reeling in The Big Ones
To separate myth from reality, Discovery contacted Samuel Gruber, a professor of marine biology at the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science and one of the world's leading shark experts to get his take on some common shark myths.

Worst Shark Attack Ever
On July 30, 1945 two torpedoes fired by a Japanese submarine struck the USS Indianapolis, sending nine hundred men into the Pacific wearing life jackets and bobbing with the waves. Sharks began to arrive at the site by sunrise to begin what has been called the worst shark attack ever.
