Flight 2A.2A: Fix-up Mission
Astronauts repair and re-outfit the Russian Zarya propulsion module, which has been in orbit for 1 1/2 years, awaiting the arrival of the long-delayed Service Module. The shuttle crew, which includes two astronauts and a cosmonaut training to be the second live-aboard station crew, tend to Zarya's two failed batteries and install safety and communications gear.
