A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
1. ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal U.S. residents who are 18 years of age and older as of February 25, 2002. Employees of Discovery Communications, Inc. (the "Sponsor"), and its promotional partner Twentieth Century Fox, their subsidiaries, affiliates, sweepstakes administrator, advertising and promotion agencies and members of the immediate families and persons living in the same household of such employees are not eligible. Void in Puerto Rico and Canada and where prohibited or restricted by law.
2. TO ENTER: The "Dig It" Sweepstakes begins at 12:01 AM Eastern Time ("ET") on February 25, 2002 and ends at 11:59 PM ET on March 18, 2002. To enter, go to www.discovery.com and click on the "Dig It" Sweepstakes link to access the sweepstakes page. Complete the online entry form and submit so that it is received by Sponsor's server by 11:59 PM ET on March 18, 2002. Limit one entry per person/email address per day.
3. PRIZES: On or about March 25, 2002, Promotion Mechanics, Inc., an independent judging organization, will conduct a random drawing from among all eligible entries received to award the following prizes:
(1) Grand Prize: a trip for four (4) to Hot Springs, South Dakota, to participate in a dig at The Mammoth Site, a working paleontological excavation site and in-situ fossil exhibit of mammoths and other Ice-Age animals. Trip consists of round trip coach air travel for four (4) to Rapid City, SD, from major commercial airport closest to winner's residence, double room accommodations for 4 days/3 nights, a tour of The Mammoth Site, other activities selected by Sponsor and use of a rental car. All other expenses including but not limited to other ground transportation, food, beverages and alcoholic beverages are winner's and travel companion's responsibility. Approximate retail value ("ARV") $4,000. Actual value will be determined by winner's residence and seasonal rates. Visit to The Mammoth Site is subject to working schedule and availability of site staff. Travel, accommodations and car rental are subject to availability and certain restrictions. Trip must be taken at time specified by Sponsor in July 2002, or prize will be forfeited in its entirety.

Total approximate retail value of all prizes: $15,499.00. Winners will be notified by mail. Odds of winning will be determined by the number of eligible entries received, which is estimated at 25,000.
4. GENERAL: Taxes on prizes and all expenses related to acceptance and use of prizes and not specified are the sole responsibility of winners. By participating, entrants agree [a] to these rules and decisions of Sponsor and judges, which shall be final in all respects relating to this sweepstakes; [b] to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, Twentieth Century Fox, their affiliates, subsidiaries, sweepstakes administrator, advertising and promotion agencies, agents and representatives and their respective officers, directors and employees from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind resulting from their participation in the sweepstakes or their and their guests' acceptance, use or misuse of a prize; and if a winner, [c] to the use of his or her name and/or photograph for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in all media, including but not limited to on air and within www.discovery.com, without compensation (unless prohibited by law) and agree to execute specific consent to such use upon request. Grand Prize winner will be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release and (where legal) a publicity release, which must be returned within seven (7) days of attempted notification or an alternate winner may be selected. If the Grand Prize winner is not of the age of majority in state of residence (i.e. states where age of majority is higher than 18), prize will be awarded in the name of parent or legal guardian who will be required to sign all necessary affidavits and releases. Travel companions, or parent/legal guardian of travel companion if companion is a minor, must complete a liability/publicity release prior to issuance of travel documents. Sponsor, Twentieth Century Fox, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, agents and representatives and their respective officers, directors and employees are not responsible for and shall not be liable for [a] any telecast malfunctions, human error, satellite transmission failures, or delayed telecasts or preemption of or the failure of a cable affiliate to televise Animal Planet, Discovery Channel or any affiliated network in all or any parts of the United States; [b] electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind, including without limitation, server malfunction or by any human error which may occur in the processing of entries or any injury or damage to an entrant's or third person's computer and/or its contents, related to or resulting from the sweepstakes; [c] failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions; [d] lost, late, misdirected or incomplete entries or postage-due mail; or [e] any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor that may cause the sweepstakes to be disrupted or corrupted. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, modify or suspend the sweepstakes or any portion thereof should virus, bugs or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the promotion. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the promotion. No prize transfer or cash redemption. No prize substitution except by Sponsor due to unavailability, as solely determined by Sponsor, in which case a prize of comparable or greater value will be awarded. All federal, state and local regulations apply. One prize per household.
5. WINNER LIST: For a list of Grand and First Prize winners, mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope to be received by April 15, 2002 to: "Dig It" Winners, PMI Station, PO Box 750, Southbury, CT 06488-0750. VT residents need not include return postage.
