Wikipedia describes Jimmy Reliford as a “covetous, egocentric, manipulative and amoral oil baron with psychopathic tendencies." Oh wait...that’s JR Ewing from Dallas. Quite the contrary, Jimmy Reliford is one of Kentucky’s biggest players in the oil business, and most locals describe Jimmy as a good-hearted man who loves to gamble.
Reliford is one of few who have survived for more than 30 years in Kentucky’s oil business and today he runs one of the state’s largest drilling companies. In his spare time, Jimmy collects $500 bills and plays high-stakes checkers.
