Steering clear of hangover symptoms is simple: Step away from the bottle. Also, don't forget to drink plenty of water, since alcohol triggers the kidneys to release fluid, dehydrating the body and ushering in a hangover. In fact, that can replace "Beer and liquor, never sicker" as your new, more accurate drinking mantra: "No water plus booze, and tomorrow you'll lose."
