As seen in "MythBusters: Vodka Myths."

Explanation: The Internet is a ripe breeding ground for home remedies, and MythBuster Adam Savage took a swig of one of the most spirited ones out there: vodka mouthwash. The theory is that if you're short on the minty-fresh solution from the store, all you need is a stocked bar and spice rack to rinse away halitosis.

The DIY mouthwash recipe calls for 1 cup of vodka and 9 tablespoons of cinnamon. Combine the two in an airtight container and keep it sealed for two weeks to allow the cinnamon to fully infuse the vodka.

Before swishing, Adam downed garlic and stinky cheese, followed by a cigarette for dessert. The cinnamon-flavored liquor slightly stung the MythBuster's mouth, but it effectively rinsed away odor-causing bacteria. After two rounds of odor testing, fellow MythBuster Grant Imahara declared Adam's breath significantly fresher after gargling - even comparing it to the pleasant scent of cinnamon toast.

The best part: This confirmed myth not only freshens breath after dinner, it can also serve as a nightcap.
