Cassidy was born and raised in Woodside, California, where she started riding horses as soon as she could walk. Before long, she also got into surfing. As soon as she could, she was driving to the beach thirty minutes from her house. She would frequently surf in Half Moon Bay, home of big wave surf legends that paddled into "Mavericks." Growing up in such an environment has made her feel very close to animals and nature.
When she lived on the island of Maui, Cassidy learned how to make shelter and would frequently go camping at a favorite surf spot of hers in Hana. Having a comfortable shelter was essential because of the constant rain. She has also traveled around the world observing different cultures and how they hunt, communicate, build, and farm.
Cassidy believes that survival is not about ego; it's about listening to yourself and doing what is beneficial for you regardless of what others might say. She feels that it's important to separate the voices of others and instead listen to your inner voice. That voice will get you out of bad situations.
Cassidy feels that delving into a primitive survival situation will be a humbling experience. In her day-to-day life, Cassidy feels that people take what they have for granted and she wants to experience what it is like to live in a demanding environment, giving perspective on normal life.
When not surviving in the wild, Cassidy surfs, rescues horses and cats, goes fishing, and is a student. Cassidy graduated from college with a 4.0 grade point average in communications and is a recent graduate student. She has a progressive outlook and is liberal minded. She aspires to work for the Discovery Channel. She has only been in love one time. She wants to be in an action movie and hates chick flicks. She once caught a bass with peanut butter, string, and a hook. If you see Cassidy in the surf line up, she is really down to earth so say hello. She loves to talk about politics and philosophy, not to mention pi?a coladas and getting caught in the rain.
