Down in south-central Kentucky, oil is booming and a gaggle of backyard oil barons are clamoring for the next big strike. A local gospel singer had a dream that God told her there was oil on her land. An auction is held for the mineral rights and a bidding frenzy follows. Meanwhile, wildcat driller Coomer has been living high on the hog from his backyard drill but decides to go for broke by prospecting a second well on his land. He’s taking a huge risk of losing everything but his income could skyrocket into the millions if he strikes oil.
According to Kentucky law, mountain man John Rascal’s got one more shot to hit oil on his land. He's got his daughter running the rig and they struggle to drill through an underground creek. Elsewhere, high roller Jimmy Reliford bids to buy an oil-finding rooster so that he can try it out at Bald Rock Mountain, a drilling site notorious for dry holes or a potential huge payout.
With a wildcat drill up for lease on Amish land, Rascal finds kinship in his bearded Amish buddy, but will an oil strike lead him astray? Jimmy and his right-hand man Mad Dog plan to drill a Kentucky Fried vision that could prove totally water-logged.
Father-and-son oilmen Dan and Ken Page employ a twin-toed warlock to hunt oil for a female squat thrust champion and her dentist husband. Everyone hopes the man witch’s forked stick will lead them to a life-changing oil strike. Meanwhile, drilling begins on Coomer’s new lease that could be worth $20 million but the crew encounters some setbacks that test his patience.
Father/son oilmen Dan and Ken Page spar over how to strike oil, and Dan’s gloating could cost them $60,000. Meanwhile, hard-drillin’ Mad Dog looks to unclog a blockage that might be stopping up the oil... or bossman Jimmy’s bow-wow-els!
Coomer has some fun with an overeager "city slicker" client as they attempt to strike oil. Mad Dog and his roughneck crew team up with scientist Jereal Brown to put his oil-finding technology to the test - and to the tune of millions.
Coomer tests out his patented possum bait during a drill. Mad Dog must guard the drill rig by surviving the night in a haunted house that may hide Jesse James’ lost gold.
Adair County Oil Men court a new drilling client - the ravishing Miss Kentucky 2010, Mallory Ervin! Dan Page wrassles with a decidedly less appealing landowner - an irascible chainsaw-wielding hermit named Bear Man.
Kentucky oil barons Jimmy and Rascal are in head-to-head competition for a chance at two properties. Whoever strikes oil first gets both leases and all the black gold that comes with it. Jimmy has an experienced crew by his side but Rascal may have some hillbilly know-how up his sleeve.
