Expedition Unknown | The Lost Spanish Fleet of 1715
01:59It's a story as rich as it's subject: King Philip V. He's reigning over an almost bankrupt Spanish empire and is in desperate need of cash and so he orders 12 treasure ships to sail from his colonies in the new world. The fleet embarks from Havana, laden with silver, gold, jewelry and artifacts; it's a cargo that is likely worth billions. Several days later, a hurricane destroys 11 of the ships, scattering their bounty beneath the waves and along the beaches of central Florida, an area now aptly named: The Treasure Coast.
