Eerie Fiery Orange Skies Cover Northern California
Northern California is plagued by unprecedented burning acres of wildfires. The smoke over the sky is causing an apocalyptic glow to engulf San Francisco as the sun is blocked by the smoke. These images are hard to capture with a camera phone, but check out some mind blowing photography of an iconic city.

The marine layer is often present in San Francisco, and as smoke mingles with the existing haze the sun is blocked and causes the orange sky. The National Weather Service says, "As the winds weaken aloft, gravity will take over as the primary vertical transport of the smoke. Suspended smoke will descend closer to the surface and could lead to darker skies and worsening air quality today."
