Investigate the Mind of a Shark on 'How to Train a Great White'
See how these apex predators actually think. Will they completely transform our understanding of their intelligence?
The Great White Shark is an elusive hunter of the deep. As much as we think we know about them, do we truly understand their minds? Find out on "How to Train a Great White," premiering on Thursday, July 30 at 9P — only on Discovery.
During this special, we'll follow marine biologist Dr. Tristan Guttridge's journey into the shark-infested waters of New Zealand to answer a provocative question: can sharks be trained?
The team will use techniques pioneered by the U.S. Navy to train dolphins in complex cognitive tasks and apply similar methods to great white sharks, determining whether or not they can learn, solve problems, and respond to cues. Based on the findings, this experiment could change the way we define shark intelligence and completely shift our understanding of them forever.
Find out what Dr. Guttridge and the crew uncover about the ocean predators on "How to Train a Great White," only on Discovery! Until then, get your fix of great white sharks in the video below.
