Scott Meisterheim drives through the streets of Nome begging for money to fuel his dredge and Steve Riedel settles his bet with Vern.

Emily's apology to her crew falls on deaf ears when they refuse to return to the Eroica after quitting en masse. Later, her former friend Zeke arrives back in Nome with a unique money-making scheme and Shawn Pomrenke's Christine Rose gets a new backhoe he hopes will help finish the season in the black.
The two excavator dredges compete to be the first on gold-rich ground but Hank may have underestimated Mr. Gold. Over on the Minnow, the Kelly brothers are enraged when accused of claim jumping and Glen's Dragon proves to be the most inventive dredge on the sea.
Steve is in danger of losing the Minnow when he can't pay his debts and his crew contemplates quitting after days of bad weather keep them off the water. Meanwhile, the Gold Grabber gets an early start and raids Shawn's prime mining spot.
