South Florida has hundreds of marine salvage companies all competing for the same jobs. When there's a disaster at sea, a boat on fire, a boat collision, a boat sinking or a plane crashing into the water -- there are at least seven boats racing to be the first to reach the scene and get the rights to that salvage job. It's a dangerous way to make a living but these guys do it and do it well.
