Having fished mainly crab and cod since 2011, James Jones is no stranger to the Bering Sea. James knows Jake through the fishing community and crabbing over the years. James resides in Ketchikan, AK with a few kids and enjoys hunting and fishing in his off time. Recently he bought a 28-foot sport fishing boat that he enjoys taking his kids out on. In Season 14, James survived a harrowing close call when a pot slipped out of the launcher and temporarily pinned him against the sorting table. With the exception of some sore ribs, James escaped relatively unscathed. Nonetheless, it served as a wake-up call for the deckhand — even the experienced crabbers are at the mercy of the whims of the Bering Sea. James returns this season to further cement his role on the Saga that has seen a lot of crew turnover in the past.
