1. The Nuns Are Pretty Bad*ss

The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary bravely stood up to the patriarchy of the Catholic Church, fighting for their freedom against an all-powerful Cardinal who sought to keep them in their place. Needless to say, it wasn't an easy battle. All of this was happening in 1960s Los Angeles, when civil rights and gender inequalities were coming to a head. Their bold acts of faith, defiance and activism turned the church upside down, helping to reshape our society in ways that continue to resonate today.

2. It was a Sundance Film Festival Favorite

REBEL HEARTS premiered to glowing reviews at Sundance, and VARIETY said the doc "neatly threads a global feminist awakening through the very specific experience of a few defiant, no-longer-cloistered women."

3. The REBEL HEARTS Soundtrack is SO GOOD

The music companion to the documentary will fully immerse you in the viewing experience. It includes original songs by Sharon Van Etten, Rufus Wainwright, and was curated by award-winning Music Supervisor, Tracy McKnight.

Now that we've convinced you, don't forget to stream REBEL HEARTS on discovery+ starting Sunday, June 27.
